Hi all,

I am considering changing guilds and am interested in seeing if this guild may be a better fit for me.  The guild I am currently in has been friendly and helpful, but I don't think my play style is a good match with how the guild runs things.  I am newish to DDO, maybe have a month or so now, and decided to give DDO a try because I like the adventuring feel of games like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights.  Unfortunately I've been disappointed a few times now when my guild group experiences were all elite favor runs instead of good old-fashioned adventuring.  At any rate, I am hoping this guild might be more considerate about letting players experience the story, at least when it's their first time running the quest, and keep group/raid events at level.

I play a Dwarf Barbarian (Akkun), currently level 7, and I like to stick with the party.  I haven't really played a role yet, ex. tank.  My biggest experience in MMOs has been WoW, but that was almost entirely solo play.  I would like my experience in DDO to be different.  My goal is to have fun adventuring.  I don't like to read up on quests beforehand since it ruins the surprises and storytelling.  I don't care about getting the best gear or seeking perfection.  I certainly don't expect the party leader to know the dungeon so well that he should have "dungeon master" next to his name.  It is okay to get lost, zapped by traps, and just laugh it off and try again later.

Your guild rules sound fair and I will abide by them.  My real life has priority, but I will do my best to communicate with the guild when it conflicts with my game time.  I primarily play in the evenings, for example 7-9pm.  Please let me know if I would be a good fit for this guild.  Heh, feels like I'm writing a cover letter for a company Smile Thank you!

Hail and well met Akkun! I think your playstyle and personality is a match, and furthermore, I think you'll fit in just fine and make quite a few friends in Tyrs Paladium!

To assure you, zerging is absolutely not allowed in Tyrs Paladium. As the saying goes in these parts, we never leave a guildie behind. Almost every run in Tyrs, the groups take their time and work together to achieve victory. Win or lose... disable trap or get your big toe stuck... our guildies always mean more than the quest or raid at hand. Any run that will be done at a faster speed than normal must be discussed and agreed upon by ALL party members before the party starts.

Without further ado, I'd like to welcome you to Tyrs Paladium!!

Register here (you need to check your email as we usually send a verification email that needs to be taken care of):

Once you register on the site, I'll grant you full read/write access.

Introduce yourself here, its a great ice breaker!

And finally, list your toons in our spreadsheet:

No better way to get to get into good groups right off the bat. Guildies are sure to welcome you aboard right away

Thank you for the warm welcome.  I have registered on the site, but am perplexed by the message I received once I clicked on the email verification.  The verification brought me to an "Information" page saying "Sorry, but no such user exists."  I successfully logged in so I assume everything is okay...

I also assume I will be able to post in the Introductions forum once I have access since I can't find the forum right now.  I tried clicking on the Google Docs spreadsheet link but it took me to a page saying "Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist."  I noticed your recommendation of Firefox over IE, but do you know if these issues might be due to using Chrome?  Anyways, I'm sure this will all be settled soon enough so I'll head on over to my old guild to say my farewells.  Thanks!

Just a quick update.  I've successfully joined the guild in-game.  I was very happy to see the extremely low recent departure number in the guild.  Best regards.

Welcome aboard me hearty! We will do our best to make you feel at home:the heads is over by the pointy bit, the buffs are scattered above and below decks, theres no keelhauling(unless you ask nicely)the brig is out of order as we lost the key, jumping over board is an acceptable way to avoid Commode that is Commodore(cough),and lastly no spitting on the decks......we've had several accidents where folk have slid on it and fallen overboard before they have finished buffing.Oh yes and flogging has been suspended due to a health and safety review.
Any questions?

Welcome to the guild.
