Application of Justifiable187

Post  justifiable187 on Sat Sep 20, 2014 12:48 pm

1) Are you at least 30 years of age
Yes, 39

2) If you have a forum name on the official Neverwinter forums, then please provide it. What is your @hanndle in game?
I’m more of a lurker on the official forum, and my @handle is @justi187

3) How would you best describe your playstyle while in party with others?
I am a utility player that listens to the raid leader and can adjust to fit the scenario.  For example, more AoE powers when going to a skirmish, and more defense and single-target in dungeons.  I don’t give up easily, but I don’t blame anyone if we are not successful.

Now for the specifics:  My main character is a guardian fighter, iron vanguard, protector feats. Nothing makes me happier than a room full of red X’s. I always try and keep threat on the boss, and pull mobs off the healer. If I’m tanking, you may get used to my voice: “Everyone ready?” wait for confirmation “Pulling in 3, 2, 1."
My secondary is a trickster rogue that can remain in stealth 80 to 90% of the time.

4) Why would you like to join Tyrs Paladium?
I have been searching for a clan that is similar to my Rift clan, Old Farts.  We are a social guild that occasionally raids, and discovered drama disappeared when we set the minimum age to join at 30 years old.  Also, 2 things really stuck out: 1) no drama policy, and 2) no zerging, because when I play my guardian fighter, I’m often the slowest one in the group even though I’m running as fast as I can, and constantly spamming Into the Fray.

5) How do you feel about grouping in game for dailies and or HEs in IWD?
That is the main reason I’m here – I’m getting a little tired of PUGs in dungeons, and epic dungeons are hit or miss, or more like miss, miss, miss, miss, hit.  Icewind Dale almost screams “get a group first” for Heroic Encounters, and Tyranny of Dragons introduced even more Heroic Encounters.  And let’s not forget special events – much more fun in a group.

6) Please tell us a little about yourself and your prior gaming experience.
I’m a Certified Public Accountant who unwinds by gaming.  I also run a website dedicated to free webinars and seminars of continuing professional education.
I started role-play gaming with the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons with a group of friends in the late 80’s.  Video game-wise, I have played a variety over the years, from the first Need for Speed, Doom and Elder Scrolls Arena to the current Elder Scrolls Online, Rift and Neverwinter.  I used to go to LAN parties, where I played first person shooters, for the camaraderie – it’s really different when you’re sitting next to someone and you can turn and talk to them.  In the last 2 years I have gotten into MMORPG with the release of Defiance, the third-person shooter with MMO elements which included a copy of Rift: Storm Legion.  I have also been a beta and alpha tester in the past, including Neverwinter.  I tend to play through the solo content for the story, and to master my class and abilities before looking for a guild.  Though it sounds like I’m fly-by-night due to the number of games I have played, once I find a guild, I’m the last one to turn out the lights.

7) Briefly describe your most memorable moment while gaming.
Most recent memorable moment was taking down Crucia, the storm dragon in a 20-person raid for the first time with my guild in Rift.  It is a difficult dungeon with 4 bosses and multiple mechanics like interrupts, tank swaps, purges, hiding behind structures, etc.  We were progress raiding once per week, and it took us quite a while to get all the mechanics down, so it felt like a very long battle finally won – a true team effort.

8) How did you hear about Tyrs Paladium?
Neverwinter forums

9) Do you agree to abide by our Guild Rules?
Yes

10) How do you feel about participating in guild chat in the game, and the forums outside of game?
I often participate in guild chat, and in guild forums.  I rarely post in the official forums, but I am willing to do so if there is a compelling reason.  I tend to be drama-averse, and many game’s official forums are filled with drama, hence why I tend to stay away.

Final thought (aka the TL;DR):  All said, my primary objectives are to meet good people to game with and have fun.

Well met Justifiable!

Thank you for taking the time to fill out our questionnaire. You have a bunch in common from what you stated with the way we like to run together. Camaraderie is our specialty, so I doubt it will take very long for you to find good friends and a helping hand with any quests you'd like to do. Welcome to Tyrs Paladium Justifiable!!
