Sorc Spells - your suggestions

Hey there!

My main toon is a low level generalist/dps sorc. I have been using Aspenors Sorc Guide right until now (i´m just lvl 6 yet), and except for some changes, i did okay with it. But well...i think, i might be doing a little better with your help. Some of you guys suggested me to be more offensive (for example i´ve been using Niacs cold ray as my main attack spell, while my lvl 2 Spells have been Resist Energie and Web - until someone suggested to use scorching ray instead of web, and it really helped a lot!). Right now, i´m doing pretty well, having my first lvl 3 spell. But maybe that guide isn´t that perfect at all, so i´d appreciate your help.

I´ll try to ask very generally: which spells would you recommend for a sorc at which level?

Right now i´m using the following:
(My Personal rating is 1 (worst spell to have) to 10 (perfect spell))


Lvl 1:
Niacs Cold Ray (5 - not very reliable, needs high DC, but does very nice damage for a lvl 1 Spell)
Shield (4 - i´m not using it very often. Chose it to stand my ground against magic missiles. Only usable on caster. I think i should change that one.)
Burning Hands (7 - AoE, no save. I really like it, but maybe i should have taken Acid Spray, since it´s damage type is more reliable. The damage of both is okay...a real disadvantage is the range.)

Changed: Hypnotism (6 - nice crowd control. I changed it because i wanted to go more offensive. I kinda regret that.)

Lvl 2:
Charm Person (9 - incredibly powerful spell. Fast casting, low cost, great range. Makes some bossfights with humanoid adds so very easy. Combined with charm monster (and heightened spell) it will be the perfect spell combination for an effective (solo) defensive and offensive playstyle.)
Resist Energie (8 - It´s the only way to get through some traps. Helps in fights with spiders and casters as well.)
Scorching Ray (7 - I just got this spell, and i like it, even though i have only one ray right now. It´s damage is relatively low, but very reliable. I like using it on bosses with high saves, since it cannot be saved.)

Changed: Web (7 - even better crowd control than Hypnotism, but i found myself not using it very often, because my hireling and charm person take care of the crowd management very well, so i changed it for Scorching Ray.)

Lvl 3:
Acid Blast (9 - Good damage, AoE, good Range, okay SP-cost - i was so looking forward to this one! Actually i find myself using the charm/niacs combination still very often though, because of the lack of sp in longer quests. I chose Acid Blast instead of Fireball because of the more reliable damage type. My enhancements power up fire AND acid spells right now, so its okay to have both damage types.)

Later on i planned on using Firewall, but i hear it got nerfed. That´s a little disappointing. Is it still worth chosing it?

Both of your lists seem kind of familiar to me...did you post them in the official forums as well? Thank you very much anyways!
